Community Woodland & Orchard

bures woodland

In 2001 children and community-minded parishioners came together to create a woodland in Bures.

Over 400 new trees including orchard species were planted on a one and a half acre of land at the end of Claypits Avenue and Tawneys Ride to compliment the existing habitat of woodland, scrub and hedgerow.

Additionally with advice from the Suffolk Wildlife Trust, areas of sward are being managed to encourage wildflowers and habitat is being created for reptiles and amphibians.
